JACKASS 3D Movie Review
So to start off this review let it be known that I am a fan of the Jackass show not so much the two previous Jackass movies. I decided to buy the DVD not only because I like the gang of twits but because there were no other releases that week that caught my attention. I do admit that I thought it might be a waste of money because Jackass movies are a hit or miss, love it or hate it type of deal. I can honestly say that this installment was a LOVE it and HIT it for me.
The guys are back with their crazy antics once again and this time they prove that even with age you can still get out there and play in the turd. Not to say that they are getting old but they are near approaching their 40's and still manage to get out there and go wild. In the last 2 movies they looked like they were actually working while on set and this time around it looks like they are having a blast literally! The movie has them doing the same full on contact stunts with animals, disgusting poop segments and slapstick moments that even though very violent are still much more hilarious then the disgusting ones. There were some wtf moments here and there that leave you scratching your head wondering where in the hell they came up with the idea to do such things. At one point Knoxville was more interested in knowing if they got the shot then getting any medical attention after almost breaking his neck. If you are familiar with the jackass crew you know about their segments and how they all have their own little titles, well that hasn't changed here either.
Unlike their other releases this one comes to us in the world of 3D. What I liked about the 3D technique used in this movie is that things don't just pop out at you, the filmmakers bring you in to the action making you feel like you are there with the guys. I mean there is a point at which pee comes flowing in your face and a couple of other kind of disturbing 3D moments that I won't give away here. The ending is also a non-stop 3D event for everyone as a room that they are all sitting in to say goodbye blows up and ..... you will have to watch it to find out! There is word that this may be the last we will see of the gang all together and if that is true then they have left us in good spirits.
There is a "Jackass 3D:Music From The Motion Picture" cd available that was released originally through a link on punknews.org. Some of the artists on the soundtrack are Twisted Sister, CKY (obviously), Weezer, Sassafras and much more. Get out and get the movie even if it's just a rental (although I would throw in a couple of extra bucks to own it) it's worth the watch for the laughs.
