CITY OF FIRE - City Of Fire  CD Review

ARTIST: City Of Fire
TITLE: City Of Fire
YEAR: 2010
LABEL: Candlelight Records
REVIEWED BY: Caroline Restiaux

Hailing from Vancouver B.C. is the quintet formed with members of Caustic Thought an Fear Factory. It is being recognized as Burton C Bell and Byron Stroud's side project. Hearing those names might make you think that there is a tone of aggressive music to follow. Well you couldn't be any more wrong then the next.

The cd would most likely be labeled as a matured piece of work however I say it's just a diferent form of art. There's a heavy groove Rock n' Roll vibe with some Led Zepplin / Nazareth styled vocals. The album could be best des cribed as trend free as it is in a league of it's own. The tight drumming, heavy riffing and a flawless vocal performance allow you to appreciate the more simple things in life. You will find that you get a lot more accoustic guitar playing and relateable lyrical content then most harder bands of today.

It's a cd that will be placed with my timeless cd collection along with Pantera, Metallica, Maiden and other epic albums that you never get tired of listening to. My fave tunes on the album were "Coitus Interruptus", Hollow Land" and "Carve Your Name". Get out there and pick this one up, sit back and enjoy!
