DODSFERD Interview with Wrath

XM: Let’s start off by getting our readers up to date on what the band has been up to so far this year.
Wrath: Dodsferd started as a one man band back in 2001! I have released so far 2 demos, 6 full length albums, two split cds, a 7”ep and a compilation cd. I have also spread my propaganda live on stage with Setherial, Behexen, Destroyer 666, Primordial and other great bands.

XM: Can you give me a brief history of the band and provide some background info for those of us who are unfamiliar with Dodsferd?
Wrath: As I mentioned in the previous question, Dodsferd started as a one man band, spreading my propaganda since 2001. It’s about a straightforward hate towards every human being, against religions and everything that has to do with trends and masses.

XM: “Spitting with Hatred, The Insignificance of Life” is the latest works that you have unleashed amongst the living. What was the recording process like this time around?
Wrath: It was different from my previous ones. I tried to have a cleaner production in order not to burry the riffs and generally my music! There are a lot of details that needed this clean production in order to make the difference in the whole atmosphere of my new album.

XM: What was your state of mind going into the new album?
Wrath: Sicker and more disgusted for all the shit out there!

XM: I must say that I admire the beautiful album cover, who was responsible for the concept and artwork of it?
Wrath: Bacchus! Bacchus is also responsible for the album covers and artwork of “Death set the beginning of my journey” album and of “Another two of Your scars and the world is dead” 7”ep. He was also playing bass in “Fucking Your creation” album.

XM: How did you hook up with Moribund and are you happy with what they’ve been doing for you so far?
Wrath: I am more than satisfied from the work of Moribund and their professionalism! Odin is dedicated to what he is doing! I have full support from him! Total respect! Odin liked Dodsferd since the birth of it! After the release of my first full length album, “Desecrating the spirit of life” by Blackmetal.com, I got in contact with Odin, for releasing my second full length album, “Fucking Your Creation”. That’s how our alliance started!

XM: Is Dodsferd a Satanic band, or simply an irreligious one? As far as you’re concerned, what aspect in particular of those religions has made them worthy of your scorn?
Wrath: Dodsferd shits all the religions and all the heresies that seduce the minds of the weak and force them to gather as sheep in order to control them!

XM: Black metal is still a rather limited genre that does not attract large crowds; do you think this is the fate of extreme music for all future?
Wrath: I don’t think anything at all! Black metal is not for the masses and that’s how it should be!

XM: What, in your opinion, separates a good black metal band from a bad one?
Wrath: I have no opinion about that! I don’t want to be like all the fucked up losers who criticize other black metal bands! I am not interested in promoting myself as an expert who knows everything about black metal. I have my own opinion and it’s only for me!

XM: If you could have been involved in the production, writing or recording of any album which would it be and why?
Wrath: I don’t care in participating in other things or changing anything else except for my bands and my projects!

XM: What is your favorite lyric of all time?
Wrath: I don’t have any favorite lyric, or I can’t think any of it that stuck in my head!

XM: What do you do outside of music. Any interesting hobbies or interests?
Wrath: I have no hobbies or other interests apart from my music!

XM: What is the first thing to come to mind when you hear the words X-PLOSIVE METAL?
Wrath: TNT!!!!

XM: What’s next for Dodsferd now that your latest record’s been released? Will you be touring or hitting any festivals?
Wrath: This is exactly what I want at this period of time, touring with Dodsferd in order to spread my propaganda live on stage! Playing in festivals is more than welcome!
